Solid-State Science & Research

Online, 10th - 11th June 2021

Welcome note

Solid-State Science & Research meeting is a multidisciplinary forum for presenting experimental, theoretical, and computational research from all fields of solid-state and materials science.

You are cordially invited on behalf of the Organizing Committee to participate in the third international Solid-State Science & Research (SCIRES2021) meeting, an online conference that will take place on 10th -11th June 2021. The meeting is organized by scientists from Ruđer Bošković Institute, Faculty of Science in Zagreb, and Institute of Physics, in collaboration with international scientists, gathered in the Scientific Board.

Solid-State Science & Research was started in 2017 to bring together scientists involved in theoretical, experimental, and applied research in solid-state physics, chemistry, material science, and geology. The first meeting was held in June 2017, and it gathered together 115 researchers from 8 countries who were able to attend two plenary talks, 16 invited talks, and a large number of oral talks or posters from broad areas of materials science, which was expanded to more than 160 participants from 15 countries in 2019.

SCIRES2021 meeting will allow participants to present their research before a multidisciplinary audience and to meet and exchange ideas with experts coming from various fields of solid-state science with a particular focus on young and talented researchers.

This year we have confirmed lectures from world-leading scientists such as the keynote speakers Prof. Omar Farha (Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA), functional MOFs, and Prof. Gautam Desiraju (Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, India),  one of the founders of crystal engineering. View the complete list of the keynote and invited speakers.

SCIRES2021 is organized by scientists for scientists and is a non-profitable event with an idea to promote high-level science to a wide auditorium without regard to their funding. Thus, the conference fees, which were always minimal to enable participation of not-so-well-funded groups and scientists to attend, are now completely waived.

For any further information about the participation or stipend, please contact us directly by e-mail scires@irb.hr

We are looking forward to your participation.

The SCIRES2021 conference is supported by Ruđer Bošković Institute, Institute of Physics, and Department of Physics and Department of Chemistry, University of Zagreb.

  • Participation in the conference program is free of charge, but registration is obligatory.
  • The deadline for submission of poster abstracts is 26th of May 2021.
